For the Public

Report a concern about polygraph practice

For concerns about polygraph examiners or services that are not BPS members. Your report is logged privately for the Society's market-awareness function — it is never published, shared, or forwarded without your instruction.

Please read before you start.

  • The BPS has no power over polygraph examiners who are not members of the Society. We will not investigate, sanction, or contact the person you report.
  • Your report is held privately for the Society's own market-awareness purposes. It will not be published, shared, or forwarded to any authority without your separate and specific instruction.
  • If the conduct you describe may be criminal, is causing harm, or is advertising / data / consumer misconduct, please also report it to the appropriate UK body yourself — see the guidance page for who to contact.
  • Naming the practitioner is optional. Even if you prefer not to name them, your account of what happened still helps the Society understand the UK market.
  • To make a formal complaint against a BPS member, use the member complaint form instead.
