In 2004, Marc Bester pursued formal training at the prestigious American International Institute of Polygraph (AIIP). Besides being an accomplished Psychophysiologist, he also holds a comprehensive four-year degree in Security Risk Management from the distinguished University of South Africa. Marc’s professional journey commenced in the military back in 1993. As a certified specialist Airborne Soldier (Paratrooper), he dedicated several years to serving his nation with distinction. Subsequently, he embarked on a career with De Beers, the globally reputed diamond mining company, serving as a Criminal Investigator until 2004. Marc Bester professional commitments have led him across Africa, handling complex cases involving theft, syndicates, and international diamond transfers in nations such as Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and beyond.

Upon completing the Polygraph course with a commendable score of 95% at the AIIP in May 2004, Marc Bester laid the foundation of a highly successful polygraph examination firm in South Africa. Today, his team, which includes four examiners, has conducted over 30,000 tests for a plethora of clients. Marc himself has overseen over 17,000 polygraph examinations during his impressive 19-year career, primarily dealing with criminal and corporate matters.

With over 28 years of extensive experience under his belt, Marc Bester is a respected figure in the field of investigation. His contributions as a Director to two National Polygraph Associations, SAPFED and SAPPA, are notable, especially his tenure in the Quality Control and Assurance position. Marc’s deft handling of high-profile labour and criminal cases, employing polygraph tests, has resulted in many landmark rulings, shaping the HR standards in the country.

As a fervent advocate of ethical conduct and international standards, Marc Bester has participated in over 30 Advanced Polygraph and Investigation training programmes, including recent sessions with SAPFED and ISOPE. He is a regular attendee at the 5 Day APA worldwide conference in the USA and holds memberships in esteemed organisations like the American Polygraph Association (APA), British Polygraph Society (BPS), European Polygraph Association (EPA), International Society of Polygraph Examiners (ISOPE), Southern African Polygraph Federation (SAPFED), and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
