Submit a Complaint

Use this form to make a formal complaint that a BPS member has breached the Code of Ethics, the Standards of Practice, or another binding policy of the Society.

Before you start: please read the Complaints, Discipline and Appeals Procedure in full.

  • The Society has no statutory or regulatory power. Sanctions are limited to those set out in the Procedure (the most severe being expulsion from membership).
  • You should normally complain within twelve months of the conduct complained of (paragraph 3.2).
  • Nothing in the Society's procedures displaces your right to pursue a legal remedy in the courts or to complain to any statutory body.
  • If you have evidence (correspondence, reports, recordings), submit the form first and then reply to the acknowledgement email with attachments, quoting your reference.

Minimum 100 characters. Maximum 10,000.

The Management Committee may accept a complaint outside the twelve-month limit where it is in the interests of justice (paragraph 3.2).

Submitting this form with your typed name is treated as a signed complaint for the purposes of paragraph 3.1.
